How Mexty Uses Your Google Account

Mexty connects to Google for two distinct reasons — to sign you in, and to let Mexty's AI carry out the Google tasks you actually ask for. You stay in full control and can revoke access at any time.

In short

Mexty uses Google OAuth in two separate ways, each requiring its own permission. The first lets you log in to Mexty with your Google account. The second lets Mexty's AI assistant connect to your Google Workspace tools — Drive, Calendar, and Gmail — so it can complete tasks on your behalf when, and only when, you ask.

We never sell your data, and we don't train AI on your content. Your Google data is used only to perform the actions you request — never in the background.

1. Signing in to Mexty (Login via Google OAuth)

When you choose "Sign in with Google", Mexty uses Google OAuth to verify your identity without ever seeing or storing your Google password. This is the same secure, industry-standard sign-in flow used across the web.

For this purpose, Mexty only accesses:

  • Your basic profile — your name and profile picture, used to set up and display your Mexty account.
  • Your email address — used as your account identifier and to communicate with you about your account.

That's all that login requires. Signing in with Google does not grant Mexty access to your Drive, Calendar, or Gmail — those are handled separately, as described below.

2. Connecting your Google tools (MCP OAuth)

Mexty's AI assistant can connect to your Google Workspace apps through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This is what lets Mexty actually do things with your Google account when you ask it to — for example, pulling source material from a document to build a course, or scheduling a session.

This connection is separate from login and requires its own, explicit authorization. Depending on which tools you enable and what you ask for, Mexty can:

  • Google Drive — search and read files so the AI can use them as a source for the content you're creating.
  • Google Calendar — read and manage events when you ask Mexty to schedule or organize something.
  • Gmail — search, read, and draft emails at your request. Nothing is sent without you.

Why a separate OAuth permission? Because these scopes give Mexty far more capability than a simple sign-in. Keeping them distinct means you can use Mexty with just login, and only grant access to Drive, Calendar, or Gmail if and when you want those features — granting each one deliberately rather than as a condition of using the product.

You stay in control

  • You keep 100% control over which Google connections and tools Mexty can use, and can enable or revoke any of them at any time.
  • Mexty only acts on your Google data to complete a task you explicitly request — never automatically or in the background.
  • You can review and remove Mexty's access directly from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
  • Your content is used only to complete what you request — we don't train AI on your content.

Google API Services compliance

Mexty's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. For full details on how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
